30 Something: Friday Nights
Updated: Oct 12, 2018
Turning 30 brings a lot of changes. It's like your body instantly decides that its going to start aching, your knees don't quite bend like they used to and your back constantly feels like there is a catch in it.
Something else that really seemed to change once I hit 30 was my Friday nights. Before, I would be beating down the door to get home, freshen up, and head right back out for a night full of downtown fun with friends. Now, I am beating down the door to get home to my handsome husband and my three baby doggies. I just want to relax at home on a Friday night. We either grab something quick to eat or cook a nice dinner, then I either quietly work on content for this little space of mine or we cuddle up and watch a movie or catch up on shows.
It's so important sometimes to just slow down and give yourself a break. At this point in my life, I am really seeing the complete need for it and the amazing benefits. Its so hard especially today with so much to do. We live right on the outskirts of downtown Birmingham which is a city that is growing very rapidly. There are so many fun things to do, new and old. There is always temptation around. I am slowly learning the art of saying the word no. It's hard when you're the type to constantly want to be doing something. It's hard for me, but I am making a conscious effort to alter that way of life so that I am able to give more in all areas of my life.
